Chestnut Creek School of the Arts
We are nestled in the Blue Ridge Plateau
surrounded by the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Our main facility is
located at 100 N. Main St. in what used to be the First National Bank
building , the first bank in Galax, built in 1920. It’s in the heart of
downtown Galax, Virginia on the corner of Grayson and Main Streets,
right across from the Galax Smokehouse. We have studios equipped for
drawing and painting, a fully equipped sewing studio, fiber arts room
with looms and spinning wheels, rooms for music instruction and a glass
and metals studio.

The Rex Theatre
Located at 113 East Grayson St., this 70 yr
old theater is home of Blue Ridge Back Roads, a live Friday night radio
program on local WBRF. Owned and operated by the City of Galax, the Rex
continues to expand its offerings with vintage movie nights, Saturday
concerts and community plays. The Rex is also available for special
events. CCSA is proud to offer many classes and events at the Rex, such
as Appalachian Dance classes and special end-of-semester performances by
our Junior Appalachian Musicians (JAM).
