MISSION: Chestnut Creek School of the Arts (CCSA)
is a year-round arts and crafts school providing classes for all ages and
skill levels, preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of southwest
Virginia by fostering artistic and individual growth through classes in
visual and performing arts, heritage and contemporary craft and traditional
music. Classes are tailored to suit both area residents within an easy
driving distance as well as visitors. Classes are offered in: Music,
Literature, Drawing & Painting, Photography, Fiber, Jewelry, Ceramics,
Glass, Wood & Stone, Culinary Arts, Children’s Classes and more.
VISION: CCSA Enriches the lives of individual
through skilled teaching. Our format offers week long and weekend workshops
for national and international markets. We offer evening and daytime classes
for those within an easy driving distance. All are welcome, from beginners
to masters’, artists and musicians as well as the curious observer. CCSA
offers a learning environment that is stimulating, beautiful, and peaceful,
giving students the resources and time to create new work and hone skills.
It is a place where people are encouraged to work and discover, experiment
and refine.

learning, CCSA communicates the value of art and traditional music, improves
art education, encourages cultural enrichment and creativity; promotes
