Join us the second Monday of the month in June, July, August and September on the Breezeway at the Blue Ridge Music Center, milepost 214 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, for an Introduction to Flatfooting. We'll start at 11:30 before the official start of the Mountain Midday Music. Beginning with a few easy flatfoot steps we'll also talk about the dance and music traditions of the area, and finish up with a mini-square dance, local style!

The fabulous Buck Mountain Band will be playing the music for this free workshop. Come have fun, kick up your heels, and learn about the music and dance of the area.

No preregistration is needed.

Intro to Painting with Amy Jackson

This is the perfect workshop for novice painters.  Follow along as Amy shows students how to create an artistic masterpiece ready to hang.  It’s easy with the step-by-step instructions in this workshop.

Introduction to Art Making
Daytime programming for all ages and abilities

Introduction to Art Making is offered twice a day on Wednesday at 10-11:30am and 1-2:30pm. All classes are $7.50 each, including materials. These classes are multi-generational and are open to all. Accommodations will be made for those who need them, please let us know in advance if you have any special requirements.

The introduction to Art Making covers a variety of class disciplines including Qi Gong (form of yoga), storytelling, dream art, stained glass, jewelry/metal-smithing, art journaling, music, woodworking, pottery, collage, sewing and painting. Most classes will be held at the main building at 100 N. Main St.
